In the interactive sketch, mouse position controls both the speed of the radial oscillation (in and out) and the angular velocity of the dots. I mapped the mouse so that it is not simply the horizontal and vertical mouse positions that influence those parameters, but the actual polar mouse quantities (distance from center and angle from horizontal).Try leaving your mouse in one place for a bit to let it cycle through and then move slowly.
