Chain Code (Contour Extraction)

This code extracts the (vector) contour of a (bitmap) blob, using an 8-connected neighborhood search. This code only traces the first blob found, where "first" is defined as topleft-most. For multiple blobs, additional code would be needed to label connected blobs first; see "connected component labelling". Note that the code does not find interior (nested) contours.
