Tone Generator

Mouse over the sliders in the Harmonics section to adjust the levels of individual overtones. Click on one of the numbers in the Transpose section to change the octave. Use the keys displayed in the Keyboard section to play a note. Tips: The default setting is a sawtooth wave. Most interesting tones result from eliminating certain harmonics. Remove even-numbered harmonics for a square wave (like a clarinet). Remove all but the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, and 16th harmonics for a tone like that of an old-fashioned electric organ.
